Ballyjamesduff is a smallish biggish small town in County Cavan in the Republic of Ireland.
It has a population of just under 1000 Irishmen and about 4000 people in total.
The town is "famous" for being in the Percy French song "Come back Paddy Reilly to Ballyjamesduff".
(Which was sung in English, not French.)
The song was written about a man from the area who suddenly decided to emigrate to Scotland.
It is said that he drove his horse and cart to Carrick-on-Shannon,
parked the horse and cart outside the railway station and took the train to Dublin, never to return.
The song never mentions what happened to the horse and cart.
Legends say it still roams Ireland to this day,
looking for someone to ride it.
The town's Motto is "Are Ya Startin'?".
It was chosen from a competition held in 2000.
It narrowly beat other choices of motto such as "Savage Stuff","Zup,Niggaz?","Check yr'self", "Feck off ya Redneck Bah-stard" and "Blaaaaaa.I'm So Drunk!"
Ballyjamesduff won the Tidiest Town In Ireland award in 1966.
Like the English with the World Cup, it is still mentioned everywhere today.
Incidentally, also in 1966,the nearby town of Virginia won the award for the Least Tidiest Town in Ireland.
Judges said "It's as dirty as if it had 2 towns worth of rubbish in it".
